01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At Masuda-ya, a soba restaurant in Kaminoge, a meal might begin with itadaki kamaboko and miso dengaku alongside beer or chilled sake, then end with seiro soba. One diner reported ordering those two snacks with beer and chilled sake before moving on to seiro, and singled out the noodles’ firm texture.
For a different take on soba, there is seiro with sesame dipping sauce. A diner found the sauce a little sweet, offering a change from the usual seiro. The menu also includes cold soba, hot kake soba, herring soba and tempura-topped zaru soba, so there are options for a warm bowl or a meal with tempura.
The owner is said to knead and boil the soba by hand before serving it. Lunch menus are available, and diners can eat in.
